I invite you to broaden the scope of your resolutions to include a commitment to championing Veterans.

Why Choose “Civilian Veteran Champion” as Your Resolution?

Make a Meaningful Impact: Being a civilian Veteran Champion is not just a title; it’s a role that can profoundly impact the lives of those who’ve served. Your commitment will help Veterans smoothly transition into civilian life.

Develop Stronger Work Teams: When companies excel at attracting and retaining Veterans, your workforce is more mission-focused, loyal, resilient and productive. This investment will save you money.

Build Thriving Communities: Veterans are integral members of our communities. By championing their causes, you contribute to the strength and resilience of the community as a whole.

Create Lasting Connections: As a champion, you’ll have the opportunity to build meaningful connections with Veterans, learn from their experiences and share in their successes.

Build bonds that go beyond “Thank You For Your Service.”

How to become a Civilian Veteran Champion:

Educate Yourself: Start by learning more about the experiences and challenges faced by Veterans during and after their service. Understanding their journey is the first step towards effective advocacy. Read: Beyond ‘Thank you For Your Service:’ the Veteran Champion handbook for civilians, available on Amazon. Click here.

Offer Practical Support: Provide networking assistance, career resources and help them succeed at work. Provide meals, help them run errands or do household tasks/chores. Include them in social and other community events. No action is too small.

Leverage your expertise and influence for Veterans: Create mutually-beneficial activities and services that improve quality of life, workforce and community. To learn what that could look like, read this.

Be a Mentor: Offer your guidance and mentorship to Veterans navigating the civilian world. Your insights can be invaluable helping them navigate new civilian career paths and integrate into the community.

Volunteer with Support Organizations: Get involved with organizations that support Veterans. Whether it’s through volunteering your time, skills, or resources, every contribution counts.

Promote Awareness: Use your platform—be it social media, community events, or workplace discussions—to raise awareness about the importance of becoming a Veteran Champion.

Invite others to join the Veteran Champion Movement.

Together, we will make a difference – one resolution at a time.
